Fredrick Lansittle was born in Saxony, Germany Sept 1 1824. On Aug. 20, 1847 he married kate Seible, who was born in Baden, Germany on Sept 26, 1825. *(Could be Switzerland) To this union were born 2 children in Germany. John F. Lansittle (B. 9-27-1848) and Henrietta Lansittle (B. 1-22-1850).
They decided to come to the United States in 1850and settled near Cincinnati, Ohio. *(Newport Ky - E of Cincinnati) The German name was then changed to spell Landsiedel. The other children born here were Christ (12-26-1851 died 4-1-1852), George (B. 5-15-1953), Peter (6-7-1855 to 5-24-1856), Henry Sr. (B6-5-1857), Elizabeth (B. June - 11 - 1859), Anna Katherine (5-20-1861) Frederick (9-6-1863), Christina (B. Oct - 23- 1865), Anna Marie (Mary) (B. 5-11-1868), and Katharina (B. 10-31-1871)
The Father was the First to pass away in 1876. The youngest, Katharina, died (1-30-1881). The mother died in 1883. These three being buried near Batesville, Indiana, Huntersville Cemetery. *(Hamburg - about 10 mi NE of Batesville - Hy 74)
We don't have any information on when they moved from Ohio to Batesville area. *(They Lived in Newport Ky (near Cincinnati, moved from Ky. to Hamburg Ind (Near Bates in 1853 where rest of children were born and reared)
The Name was changed in 1906 to the present spelling--Landseadel.
Markers for Fredrick and kate were placed at the base of Katharina's stone in 1977 because the original wooded markers were gone.
